Dotting the I’S & Crossing the T’S
Yes for a solidarity campaign with Al-Sheikh Nimr
Written by Nasser Kandil,
The apathy in the Islamic Arab righteous structure and the acquiring manners of the laws of the oil era have transcended the limits, so it is necessary to explain the reasons which call for a solidarity with an intellectual personality that faces the sentence of death, out of his political opinions that have been expressed peacefully, and which have refused every call for arming the opposition in the country.
If this happened in Syria in the beginning of the crisis, and before the major powers and the recruited countries of the region, the leaderships and the opposition forces have succeeded, and if the Syrian courts had executed Michel Kilo, then the International Security Council and the international churches would have interacted and he becomes Christian, and the Arab and the international leftism would have met away from politics, and thereby he becomes an icon for leftism and democracy, and if Hasan Abdul Azim was in his place, then the Christians, including the supporters of the Syrian country would have met and condemned, thus he becomes Guevara of the Arabs. Moreover, if Suhair Al-Atassi was in his place then the committees and the bodies of women have agitated in the world, and she becomes Jeanne d’arc of the Arabs, and how if Al-sheikh Saria Al-Rifaie or others of the religious men who belong to the opposition side were in his place, those who call publically for the armed rebellion, then the Islamic Conference would have been held an exceptional circuit and would have discussed the overthrow of Syrian membership, knowing that all of these have something to be condemned for, in front of the military courts, in charge of encouraging to use weapons and organizing military rebellion, as they have publically announced, while Al-sheikh Nimr is insisting on that the word is a sufficient weapon to spread the right.
Certainly, if this happened in Syria, then the demonstrations would have spread in Beirut and Cairo, and the sit-down and the conferences of solidarity have been held.
The religious popular leader personality of Al-sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr represents one-third of the population in his country, which manages the mobility to get the rights of citizenship in the same way which Nelson Mandela has adopted. Moving towards the solidarity with him needs a justification that does not influence with the sectarian Shiite identity of Al-Sheikh Al-Nimr.
In a country where there is no constitution, and where its citizens are obliged to have passports, which associate them with the name of the ruler, and where there is no more history or geography that related to their identity, where women are prevented to drive, moreover, the press which does not owned by the ruling family is prevented, no parliament and no right for the demonstration, the racial discrimination is the only characteristic which one-third of the population is being treated through, this is according to sects, doctrines, and classes, and the arbitrary slavery behavior towards all population, all of these make the sound of the right silent, because the governor has enough money to buy the conscience of the White House and the consciences of thousands of the writers and the intellectuals who are employees in the media institutions which have the smell of oil.
We have to apologize from Al-sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr the commander of the peaceful change in the Arabian Peninsula, because we have stood beside him not to enroll in the violence actions, we have not noticed that such nation is worth more than ISIL, in addition, we must remember to ask for forgiveness from the democracy which Syria has offered to the dissidents, we have to feel shy when appeasing the immorality of the intellectuals who deal with oil every day, and share their calls for the freedom and the democracy in Syria, while Hasan Abdul Azim is in Damascus saying from the balcony of his house every day, that there is no solution but to overthrow the regime, and to encourage a world war against it, thus he does not get from the government which he wants to justify the violence against it, but invitations to dialogue.
This situation arouses pity on the intellectual environment of the Arab educators and the Arab jurists, on the bar association, and the human rights bodies, everything becomes bogus, and have nothing except what is offered by the kingdoms of oil.
We are in front of popular religious stature that seeks for the cause of the right, sits-in for peace, his weapon is the free word, he is sentenced to death, so the humanity affected to the extent of coexisting with the influence of money at the expense of the right, It is necessary to shout in a loud voice, …keep your hands away from Al-Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr.
To the advocates of the rationality we say: Advise your leaders from the place of care, that the violence actions towards the peaceful will ignite the fire in the embers, and if the execution is carried out, then it would be as the history says a spark that ignites everything. Since the human dignity is flammable as the oil, so do not ignite for the sake of oil.
