Nasser Kandil wrote: Kerry: No alternative plan

  • When the US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the collapse of the armistice will mean the moving to plan “ B” we said that the goal is the illusion that the Syrian country bears the responsibility of obstructing the armistice.
  • Then the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov has got out saying that the American speech is affecting the armistice, because the Syrian country is the most enthusiastic for this truce which excluded Al-Nusra Front and which put the armed groups between two choices either joining the political process, or joining the terrorism.
  • Then Lavrov has called Kerry to withdraw his speech, because it is an encouragement for the reluctant armed groups in accepting the truce to refuse it, and thus more of obstruction, hoping of getting the opportunity of the alternative plan which Kerry has promised with.
  • The plan of Kerry suggests either to accept the Turkish proposal of the secure area or to go on with the American threats that Syria will not be united if the ceasing-fire failed.
  • Then Adel Al-Jubeir has come out and repeated Kerry’s speech of the alternative plan, but when he was asked he said that he meant Kerry’s plan.
  • Today Kerry came out publicly to say that no one in the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs talked about an alternative plan of a truce or suggested the military intervention or the division, since there is no alternative of the truce but the truce itself.
