Nasser Kandil wrote: America and the curse of geography and demography

  • Prior to the war on Syria the Americans in 1982 in Lebanon have fallen in the trap of demography when Israel invaded Beirut and when a Lebanese president was assigned from an Israeli tank.
  • The Americans thought that through their prestige, strength, and bullying would be able to adapt demography as they thought that they would be able to adapt geography which their violated its rules by putting the Israeli army on Beirut-Damascus road in a way that threatens the security of Syria.
  • America played its game but Syria as well as the Lebanese sects which their leaders were affiliated to America fought its project which based on mono -sect ruling.
  • There are many differences between the war on Syria and that war and these days and those ones.
  • The Americans are re-playing with geography and demography.
  • They ignored that the geography does not bear playing; the change which they wanted in Syria will affect Iran, Russia and the resistance by the force of geography and that their presence far from the war in its beginnings will not last till they became an essential part in it and the war became a war on their presence.
  • They ignored also that the demography does not bear playing; the change of balances and setting up the Kurdish militias as an American lofty delegate will provoke Syrian and regional components that feel of danger and some of them from within the system of loyalty to America, especially the Turkish situation which explains the changes of its positions.
  • Those whose their country based on usurping the geography and demography of the countries which were invaded by settlers and called it America do not know that the curse of geography and demography will follow them until defeat.
