The defeat of 67 suits the Arabs and the Israelis*

After two years the Arabs and the Israelis will celebrate the passing of a half century of the defeat of 1967, and during this extended era of changing the ruling reigns and the violent developments at the level of the entire region, and on both the Israeli and the Arab sides and what is beyond them, it seemed that the incident was not mere a war that ended with a winner and loser, but it is a context and a background for the regularity of forces’ balances that keep the stability in the Middle East for decades and decades. What has happened since that date ensures that all the developments, initiatives, and the movements which were for correcting the Arab track in contrast with the direction of fifth of June have been subjected to targeting, directing and the perseverance on targeting till they fall, thereby the track of fifth of June will return to the forefront as an ensuring background for stability.
On the Israeli side it seemed that Israel becomes unable to live, it loses its balances when it missed the flavor of the fifth of June and what it granted it of a feeling of superiority and ability, and if it deprives from that feeling, and if the confidence in its security and the ability to wade wars moreover winning in them has affected, then any hope for peace with Israel becomes lost, because any attempt to correct the track of fifth of June is a way for politics’ erosion in Israel, and an absence of the decision-maker center which is capable of making peace or …. war. But it is a start for continuous wars unless the goal becomes the termination of Israel and not bringing it to the negotiation’s table and then to make a peace with. Israel may dissemble or commits suicide and may collapse but it will not make a peace after it lost the feeling of the fifth of June. While there is a hypothesis that states that Israel may come to peace on a basis of the sense of power, security and the ability of wading wars, this is summarized by the meanings of the Israeli triumph in 1967.
On the Arab side there were three phenomena that rebel against the fifth of June. First, the movement of correcting the track of the defeated Arab national movement on the fifth of June, which was initiated by the President Jamal Abdul Nasser in the war of attrition till his departure in 1970, then the President Hafez Al-Assad has assumed the task through his Corrective Movement which paved the way for the war of October in 1973, and which changed the equation of 1967 and returned the psychological and military balance between the Arabs and Israel. But the quick assassination of the consequences of the War of October by the going of Anwar Al-Sadat to Camp David on one hand, and the magnitude of conspiracy which the President Hafez Al-Assad has been exposed to by the Arabs till his departure in the year 2000 on the other hand, show that Arabs cannot live in a phase entitled the glory against the Israeli superiority, because they coexisted with the condition of feeling with humiliation, otherwise their psychological balance will be lost. Second, the Palestinian resistance which remained under the targeting until they have put it within bilateral Saudi Qatari system that adheres the two movements of Fatah and Hamas and makes its duty to control their tracks which do not affect the equation of 1967 but allows for its reproduction. The third phenomenon is the resistance which emerged from strategic option represented by the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran which was in some points a rejection for the consequences of the war of 1967 as a reconsideration of the rank of this important Islamic country that is neighbor to the Arabs in their conflict with Israel. Therefore and after Camp David the vision of Syria has turned from investing on the war of armies into armies and resisters’ war as the President Hafez Al-Assad has thought of it and developed by the President Bashar Al-Assad accompanied by the resistance of the Lebanese people in its vanguard elites, and which is culminated by the experience of the Islamic resistance under the historic leadership of Al-Sayyed Hassan Nasorllah, This is the experience which humiliated Israel and affected its sovereignty many times, so it is exposed to a continuous conspiracy its main face is Arab, its financing is Arab, and its titles are Arab.
The Arab regime, the elites, and the supporting popular classes which are led by Saudi Arabia have one strategy that is to return the situation to the stability which they discovered that it suits them and feared of its change more than the fear of the Israelis; it is the normal stability of 5th of June 1967.
It was not a setback or a defeat but just an option.
The Arab nationalism or the Arabism has one title is to change the track of fifth of June, which means wading open wars till the termination of Israel and the fall of the Saudi phase….. Who dares?
