Nasser Kandil wrote: Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the preparation for the negotiations

  • Neither Mansour Hadi nor Saudi Arabia can explain the resignation of Khalid Bahah from its two positions as a vice President and a head of the government, and will not explain as well the appointment of new head of government and giving Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar the title of the Vice President in the war’s conditions.
  • Everything happened was related to one equation, it is the adherence of Saudi Arabia to stabilize Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar in a position through which it ensures its share in the new rule.
  • It was not possible to alienate Bahah from his position as a vice president and appointing Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar and keeping Bahah in his position as head of the government as a strong person, but there must be Head of the President that does not compete the vice president on his role.
  • Distributing the shares between the groups of Saudi Arabia in the North and in the South has been settled by the presidency of the Republic in the South and by the Vice President as an actual commander of the army of the tribes of North and by the head of the government from the group of the Southern Movement to enter the negotiations as a prelude for the settlement.
  • The new head of the government is an attempt to present a neutral personality relatively before the negotiations to facilitate the mission.
  • The practical Saudi proposal is the remaining of the President, his vice president, the head of the government, and the change of the ministries in the settlement, where Al-Houthis get the one –third and to alienate Ali Abdullah Saleh.
  • The Saudis will accept a presidential council that oversees the elections.
