The Israeli interest is economic, it is an oil pipeline and a land bridge, they aim to make connection with Europe, and constitute an important resource for Israel but it is an alternative of Suez Canal, and its acceptance by Egypt is subordination, humiliation, and a Saudi normalization that is contrary to the Arab initiative for peace.
The only interpretation is that the project is American to compensate Israel of the loss of a regional role in the settlements of the region, and granting it a role of the entry to the European Gulf market at the expense of Egypt.
