Nasser Kandil wrote: Yemen’s Path

  • With the arrival of the negotiating delegation of Ansar Allah and the popular conference to Kuwait and the holding of the first round, there was a contradiction between the Syrian and the Yemeni paths.
  • In the path of Kuwait for Yemen, Saudi Arabia tries to save the negotiations at any cost, while in the path of Geneva for Syria it seeks for orgy and disruption.
  • Saudi Arabia is fighting directly in Yemen and it is defeated in Yemen, but it is afraid that the negotiations fail in stopping the war in Yemen.
  • Saudi Arabia uses its group in Syria to exert pressure and to escalate in favor of Yemen; it is not as some may think that it is inflexible toward the Syrian affairs despite the hatred and the maliciousness.
  • The Saudi hatred toward Yemen is not less than toward Syria.
  • The reason of the Saudi escalation in the Syrian path is the danger of the resolving with Al Nusra Front in the countryside of Aleppo and the city towards Idlib, because then it will be a full war against ISIS where the west cannot remain outside it.
  • Saudi Arabia is doing its best in order to protect Al Nusra in order not to reach the moment which it does not do anything after.
  • At the end the priority of Saudi Arabia from the perspective of role and geography is in Yemen while the Turkish priority is in Syria.
  • Saudi Arabia fears that the fall of Al Nusra in Syria will change the tone of Al Houthis and their demands, so it invests time in Syria for its Yemeni impasse.
