Nasser Kandil wrote: Russia, Turkey, and Al Bab

  • The Turkish President talks in an arrogant way and through drawing illusions about a bigger role in Syria and Iraq.
  • In return, the Turkish President classifies the relationship with Russia and Iran as an indispensableequivalent to ensure the balance with the US absence which will last for at least half of a year, since it is the crucial in Syria and Iraq. Within the US Turkish relationship there are doubts and suspicions from the day of the coup, while in the European Turkish relationship there is hostility.
  • Turkey does not bear to be without alliances, since it failed in the plan of the buffer zone and in the confrontation with Russia after the incident of the plane and was obliged to apologize. Today it is facing the lack of the international importance in the absence of an ally that supports its expansion in Iraq and Syria. Because neither Washington considers it within the coalition in its all steps, nor Russia allows it to continue in provoking its ally Syria,
  • The Turkish President tries in vain to find a central region among his dreams and to maintain balance without collision with Russia or Iran, or to have coverage from the West which along with Trump and later with Fillonkeeps away from the options of embroilment which accompanied the Turkish role in Syria and Iraq.
  • Erdogan will be satisfied with screaming at the gates of Al Bab.
