  • Thirty-three years ago the Lebanese nationalists led by the Speaker Nabih Berri went out to liberate the capital Beirut from the dominance of the ruling regime which set up by the Israeli occupation after its invasion to Lebanon.
  • It was an ideal uprising in which the people and the army participated, it has expelled the Marines and the multi-national troops from Beirut, it has ended the agreement of 17th of May which was signed by the President Amin Gemayel and Israel under US auspices, and opened the South way to the resistance and the Arabism way to Damascus.
  • The uprising formed the basis on which the victories depended. These victories were culminated by the resistance through liberating the South in 2000, preceded by reaching to Taif Agreement which stopped the civil war under a sponsorship led by Syria.
  • The weak point which prevented the uprising from achieving a comprehensive change in the Lebanese regime was the absence of an important Christian partner in the choice of the resistance and the relation with Syria and the pursuit to change.
  • Eleven years ago and on the same day, Al Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah the leader of the resistance and the General Michael Aoun the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement signed the understanding of Mar Mikhael Church which built up the alliance that proved its presence in the war of July 2006 and ended with the arrival of the General Aoun to presidency.
  • The culmination of the two occasions with change has become a necessity.
