Nasser Kandil wrote: Turkey and the battle of Al Bab city

  • The Turks and some of those who do not like but to debate and to doubt insist stubbornly on saying that the Turkish entry to Al Bab city is still important, so they invent reasons and reasons.
  • Everyone knows especially the Turks that the cost of the entry to Al-Bab city is the cost of the rivalry and the hostility to an ally, which is ISIS which was bred in Turkey till the Turkish leadership saw the impossibility of getting the opportunity to hit the Kurds but only if they present a tempting offer to the Americans by fighting ISIS.
  • The Turks have born the costs of the confrontation which they see that it is the gateway to Manbej and the strongholds of the Kurdish armed groups in their way to join the war in Raqqa.
  • To facilitate the battle of Al Bab, the Turks have committed to the Russians by abstaining and preventing their Syrian militias “the Shield of Euphrates” from any collision with the Syrian army and leaving the race to the ISIS sites to determine the rules of the game, because the land is for who arrives to it first.
  • The Turks and their groups felt happy that they reached to Al Bab city before the Syrian army, because they were not exposed to the Syrian attack, but when the Syrian army progressed to the north to meet the Kurds they had to subdue.
  • The Kurdish-Syrian cooperation under Russian sponsorship that ends with the entry of the Syrian army to the Kurd’s territories is ending the Turkish dream and making the costs of Al Bab Turkish losses.
