Nasser Kandil wrote: Syria changes the Summit

  • Syria does not need to cause the failure of the summit because according to the standards of the success of any summit, the failure causes by its inability to deal with the major problems which affect the Arab body, most importantly the terrorism and the Israeli occupation.
  • In previous times since the war on Syria and getting it out of the Arab League the summits and the Arab institutions were living under the Saudi rule and the fear of the anger of the Gulf.
  • The traditional summit of the Arab rulers was reciting what was written by the Saudi Foreign Minister.
  • What has happened during the developments of the war on Syria and their failure is the emergence of a new Arab background that sees the despair of its change in favor of victories dreamed by Saudi Arabia, and the anticipation to confront imminent risks especially after the infiltration of the terrorism in many Arab fields.
  • Iraq, Egypt, and Algeria are no longer silent countries towards the war on terrorism; they do not see any benefit from the dispute with Syria and the escalation against it.
  • The new Arab axis is not a tyrant, but it is a repression element that will make the summit governed with a balance that allows Saudi Arabia to have dedicated paragraph grudgingly about Yemen and the relationship with Iran, while the rest of the paragraphs were taken from previous summits.
  • The file of Hezbollah is the standard, but Saudi Arabia will not have what it wants.
