Nasser Kandil wrote: What does the King want?

  • Sometimes the words of the Jordanian King seem an outcome of equations that are greater than what is suggested by his knowledge, they foreshadow of wars that neither come to his mind nor he intended to ignite nor he can bear its consequences.
  • Sometimes the King seems terrified of bearing the consequences of a war that may affect him.
  • He resorts to double dealing between presenting credentials in Washington and Riyadh as a courageous reliable partner, and sometimes he corresponds with Damascus apologizing or making excuses to avoid the consequences.
  • Sometimes when he felt of danger he harried to Moscow to declare the neutrality.
  • When the situations become critical he exchanges letters with Tehran.
  • Today Jordan is at stake, and it does not bear the game of gamblers.
  • The fear for Jordan is not from Syria.
  • The fear for Jordan is from losing its force and its cohesion in opening the front against Syria, and when it becomes weak, instead of allowing the entry of the Syrian army, it paves the way for the entry of ISIS and Al Nusra groups.
  • To start the war of Raqqa and to resolve in Al Mosul the Americans try to secure an alternative shelter to which ISIS can resort.
  • According to the American and the Israeli considerations, Jordan is always an alternative homeland.
  • This time Jordan is not the alternative homeland for the Palestinians but for ISIS and Al Nusra.
