Nasser Kandil wrote: The “de-escalation areas” and their steadfastness

  • Since the first truce the experience of the “de-escalation areas” which followed the Russian military positioning in Syria and the achievements of Sokhoi storm did not show what proved the cease-fire.
  • In every time the truce was an opportunity for the militants to get relaxed and their operators were betting on the preparation for a new round.
  • But in every time it is shown that the revenue of their investment is declined towards the nothingness.
  • In the first truce, they have prepared for the war of Aleppo and have raised its cost, but the army has gained from the truce the liberation of Palmyra.
  • After Palmyra the army and its allies responded to what was going on in the outskirts of Aleppo, the battles were rolled till the liberation of Aleppo and the humiliating exit of the militants from it.
  • In the truce of Astana, they prepared for the war of Damascus and Hama, but the army has achieved crucial reconciliations in dozens of areas that paved the way for the exit of thousands of the militants from Darya, Zabadani and Waer district and others.
  • The armed groups lost all of what they gained or they try to gain in the truce, while the army and the allies have gained a lot and their gains were crowned with victories.
  • This time it will not be different from its previous ones.
