Nasser Kandil wrote: The thinker President

  • No one deserves this title among the Arab Presidents and surely the Kings and the Princes but the President Bashar Al-Assad.
  • The issue is not a result of the options which he adopts and represents to say that he is a courageous leader or resistant, or a national or having a cause, but due to the culture which is expressed by his positions, visions, and speeches as preludes for a logical sequence through which he forms his position.
  • The thinker President at the global level is rare.
  • Today among the world presidents, there are strategic minds and great leaders but the thinker president is something else.
  • In his yesterday interview, the President Al-Assad excelled in the intellectual equations; his political position would be clear without them since there was not a necessity to ensure them as much as it is necessary to address the minds of elites and to drop the illusions.
  • The President Al-Assad has ended his battle to ensure the nationalism of Syria through an equation that “the decided identity is the one which counts not the identity of tongue, the decided identity of the Syrians were their nationalism”.
  • The title of his battle during the past years was that the Syrian patriotism wins over the potential sects.
  • Today he moved to the battle of ensuring the Arab identity according to equation if the Arabism falls then Syria will lose its meaning, status, and role, and Israel will turn to be a dominant entity.
  • The politics hands over its leadership according to the one who derives his equation from the political thought not from the culture or instincts or stubbornness or sects or the power of habit.
  • Due to the boasting of the Syrians of this feature of their president, they have to help him in translating the aspirations which he draws by accelerating their going along with his strategic thought. Today's equation is Syria above its sects; the Arabism is the pulse of Syria and its identity, while its compass is Palestine.
