• The meeting between the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem forms a station for the bilateral relationships that reflect the stage that awaits Syria, so this meeting is different from its previous ones.
• Lavrov – Al-Muallem meeting dealt with three issues concerning the future of Syria that seem clear at the joint press conference of the two ministers.
• The first issue has been represented by a decisive position towards the US presence in Syria which the preparation for its announcement has become illegitimate, and which the preparation to end it once the war on ISIS ends and the dealing with it as a foreign occupation that can be confronted, and when Syria got the support of Russia such of this position then it will surely get the support of its allies in the field Iran and Hezbollah.
• The second issue in politics is related to the preparation for new Astana and Geneva in order to launch the political path with those who are present. In this context there is a determination of the future of the situation of the Kurdish armed groups which were given unconditional negotiation with the common Syrian-Russian approach, in exchange of the preparation to deal with them as separatist rebel groups if they refused to join the paths of Astana and Geneva.
• The third issue is represented by the file of reconstruction, where Russia got the role of the first strategic partner. It has this feature by the force of the supportive position to Syria and the sacrifices which it offered, but this feature is a political one too, because it addresses the West countries which are ready to reserve a seat in the process of reconstruction of Syria. Russia has the opportunities for those who will take the initiative to abolish the unfair sanctions against Syria according to Syrian-Russian understanding equation.
• Al-Muallem - Lavrov meeting is for drawing strategies not mere a meeting for coordination.
