Nasser Kandil wrote: Turkish- Kurdish transition in Syria

  • Nothing in the history of the Turkish role in Syria can be believed regarding the honesty of the commitments or the expectation of the good intentions, but the disappointments, the defeats, and the deadlock of the colonial ambitions are a school to learn from.
  • The behavior of the leadership of the armed Kurdish groups in Syria have not shown any smartness or a historic sense in  all the war and the crisis stations, or any existence of the moral values as fulfillment, patriotism, considerations of future and what it will hide. But what has happened in the Iraqi Kurdistan was a moral.
  • At the sidelines of Astana Meetings, Russia called for a national dialogue conference in Sochi, correcting its call for what it has already called the “People of Syria” conference in Humaimim, it has got the consensus of the Syrian country to participate.
  • What is new is the participation of Turkey and the Kurdish groups at Sochi conference, because it opens the door for a dialogue between the Syrian country and the important groups which carry weapons but which are not classified on the terrorism list as Al Nusra and ISIS.
  • The participation of Turkey will lead to the participation of the groups supported by Ankara and which are present in the north-west of Syria vs. the participation of the Kurds which are in the north-east of Syria.
  • The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the oppositions which are outside of Syria do not take their decisions by themselves. It is clear that the group of Saudi Arabia is feeling threatened because they are marginalized unless they change their positions before the date of Geneva Conference.
