Nasser Kandil wrote: New US and Gulf sanctions

  • Logically there is no practical value for Washington and the capitals of the Gulf’s decision in confiscating the funds of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah Al Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other leaders in Hezbollah since there are no accounts and no money.
  • The decision is a message that the state of hostility to Hezbollah on the rhythm of what is going on in Palestine forms a common cause for the Americans and the Gulf people. This is the only new interpretation of choosing this time.
  • The Americans and the Gulf say that they are involved in the security of Israel and this security is their most important cause, and that they are aware of the role represented by Hezbollah as a source of hope and confidence to the Palestinians to go ahead in the option of confrontation and thus they are not alone. Imposing sanctions on Hezbollah with this symbolic title is a decision of confrontation with the hope on which the Palestinians depend.
  • In contrast, what the Americans and the Gulf must know is that Hezbollah which has not bargained any more on less important issues will not put its position towards Palestine which forms the essence of its foundation, faith, and course in bargaining to avoid the confrontation.
  • On the contrary, these sanctions will increase the confidence of Hezbollah in the rightness of its position and increase its determination to address the Palestinians in order to raise the hope in the resistance option and the future which is foreshadowed for Palestine.
