In the opening session of the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in the
framework of the International Parliamentary Union, the Lebanese Speaker of the
Parliament Nabih Berri started his speech saying” I will not speak too much in
politics, especially on the Palestinian cause, because in my opinion what is
important is only the resistance”.
 What happened concerning the Palestinian cause as bets and options starting from the
implementation of the United Nations of its resolutions, and then the long waiting for the
promises of the Arab wars. Then, the illusion of negotiation and compromises all lead to
mirage; therefore talking in politics is meaningless.
 In the last year, it seemed that the positions of all those whom the Palestinian leaders
were waiting for were close to the minimum of what was accepted by the Palestinians
and was not accepted by Israel. Developments occurred to say that once politics reaches
the borders of Palestine, it fell as the law, since everything is governed by force not right.
 The blatant American exit from the path of negotiation and compromises, the adoption of
the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem and making it the capital of the occupation entity, as
well as the seeking to ignore the right of return, the truth of the Arab official partnership
which is being exposed by silence, the subordination to Washington without any
condition, the abstention from paying few loans to ensure the continuation of the
UNRWA which Washington wants to lead it to bankruptcy, while hundreds of billions of
Arab dollars flow to the US administration are all titles that do not leave for the
Palestinians any option by to resist, nothing but the resistance.
 Nabih Berri’s words were true, but simply the question is did the Arabs hear and realize
that these words are of gold?
