Russian resources that observe the summit which brought together the Russian
President Vladimir Putin and the Lebanese President Michael Aoun assure that the
summit was under the sight of the whole world especially Washington and Tel Aviv
due to the attitude of the Lebanese President towards several issues as the relationship
with Hezbollah, the issue of the Syrian displaced, and the relationship with Syria, just
for that the summit was exposed to a campaign of distortion as the lie about the
difficulty of holding a summit and Russia’s lack of enthusiasm of holding it.
 According to Moscow, this summit was of strategic importance for several reasons;
Russia which presented to the allied countries the example of its relationship with
Syria considers Lebanon as a good example of its relationships with the countries
whose its leaderships share the friends and the opponents with Washington as Yemen
and Iraq. The success in focusing on a relationship that serves Lebanon and does not
affect it is an example adopted by Moscow to attract the hesitators for a similar
cooperation.
 In Lebanon, Moscow adopts the project of the return of the displaced, Lebanon which
is neighboring Syria and which has common security, popular, and economic issues
with it and which has conflicts with Israel especially in the issues of gas and oil got a
Russian interest, because Russia can present security and political solutions that have
economic dimensions in the issues of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
 Moscow is committed not to embarrass Lebanon due to its cooperation with it; it
knows that the Lebanese President is a reliable partner in the long-term work and an
attracting example for a relationship with Russia, especially in the issue of the
Christians of the East.
